Notes to friends

Hello dears. I do admit that this is very out of the ordinary for me. Spending most of my time in the garden or kitchen, I rarely touch Milton's desktop...but, I thought it was about time! Out with the old and in with the new, yes? Ah. Well. Now there is just to entertain you with what I'm writing. Well.

Mother, since it was you that insisted I start this blog, I will direct my first comments to you. I would have you know that I still value the days of jam making in Spring and afternoons of Rye Bread in Fall. The way you corrected my measurements and guided my hand as I stirred the steaming strawberries still brings a warmth to my heart that will not be soon extinguished. I do promise that as soon as Milton's tryst with the professorship is over, that we will be up to Yorkshire to visit you. I have so missed joining you in cross-stitch before the telly.

And Sarah, I do appreciate your loyalty as well. I would have you know that your cinnamon bread last week was undeniably scrumptious. Do share the recipe with me soon? And in response to your doubt in my technical ability...I say unto you, Ha! Here I am. Typing and thinking and 'blogging' away. Do try not to shame me with your undeniable skill in the subject.

Oh my, this is not going well, is it? I do promise that in my next post I will post more explicitly about my recent gardening endeavors. Milton has encouraged me to plant window boxes, which have been the joy of my past week! But I will save the exact arrangements and flower-types til next time.

And Milton, do pass this on to your mother. She has denied me entrance to her secret stash of seeds until I proved my passion. I hope this does the trick. Well...until next time! Do be safe!
